dc.description.abstract The study was carried out in Maritimepattu Divisional Secretariat area in the Mulative District. population was identified base on purposive and snow ball sampling methods and the study was admini case studies, questionnaire survey and key informant interviews as the primary data collection technique objective of the study was to find out the socio-cultural impact of the war-disabled, in addition to attempted to come over with the psychosocial impacts of the physically war-disabled. There are many socio-cultural problems that war-disabled people encounter. They are Hindu religious Religion has many good things at the same time restrict the disabled people’s activities. Cultural values collectivist society, marriage welcoming, late marriages, carelessness and ill-treat, indignity and religious beliefs, karma, safety and security, sexual harassment, young disabled and less experienced, a in children’s limited education for all of which the disabled were blamed. All of the factors expect disa to be active and independent The study recommends immediately undertake vocational counselling, poverty alleviation pr psychosocial intervention, accessible environment, coordination and awareness necessary for disable the house hold level. en_US
