Abstract:
Kuala Lumpur is one of the tourism destinations which offers a balance of historic and modern development. Apart from attracting the tourists, it has become a central meeting place for the immigrants who monopolized the business operation. The aim of this study is to examine and analyze perception and opinion of tourists visiting Kuala Lumpur towards the immigrants’ influx in the heritage zone of the City Centre. This study will adopt a mixed method approach which involves the collection, analysis, and integration of qualitative and quantitative data. A set of questionnaires will be distributed to the tourists visiting Kuala Lumpur. The analysis of variables will be categorized into three; demographic characteristics of the tourists; tourists’ perception and opinion towards the immigrant influx; and tourists’ perception and opinion towards heritage conservation and value. The finding of the study will help the stakeholders to formulate a policy in controlling the influx of immigrants in Kuala Lumpur.
