dc.description.abstract ln potato cultivation, the Sri Lankan farmer spends 60% of the initial cost for seed potato production, and undergoes a lot of problems in the absence of modern technologies. This is a higher amount, and the poor farmer is not in a position to bear this cost* Almost all of these problems can be answered. In answering to the problems that affect to the farmers,tissue culture plays an important role. By employing this technique., we can Obtain a higher amount of virus free and new varieties of micro tubers toy spending a low capital. The farmers are really availed by this method. Therefore, it Is obvious that promoting this tissue culture technique vastly in Sri Lanka is needed for the development of the crop as well as the beneficence of the farmer. en_US
