PROJECT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR ANALYZING A PROJECT

Abstract

One of the key problem identified in using software for a particular project. There are so many software using for project management in several industries, but no software is made to manage any given project (not definite system) with respect to financial, human and physical resources,time, evolution, monitoring and updating. This is a management system design for the Sri Lankan and foreign industries, companies, government and private sector. Target users o f this software are project handlers. Primary target o f this project is providing user friendly environment and make particular users to use this tool effectively. There will be various tools to involve and monitor all the transactions regarding to the given privileges and to provide financial analyzing reports based on specific sections. The software development core technologies are Java SE. MySQL, Enterprise PJava Beans (EJB),tomcat, jasper reporting, J unit, UML. The requirements were based on the targeted user. Major requirements o f this project were achieved by interviewing people with knowledge o f Computer programs and knowledge to maintain and handling the projects. Then GUI was created according to the requirements and also consider about end users knowledge o f understanding. Used net Beans 6.1 IDE to create GUI. After that separated database Schema was created by My SQL (database language based on Sql) databases. To verify this system, design class diagrams, sequgnce diagrams. Also used Jasper reporting and test through the J unit. Evaluative feedbacks were acquired in each meeting with external supervisor. Refinements and modifications were carried out after supervisor meeting to meet the client’s requirements. The components were tested individually and finally the integrated system was tested. At the end of the development process, the main objective o f the project was achieved and the end user was satisfied with the functionalities, usability, security and reliability o f the system.
