dc.description.abstract Due to some noise sources, sound propagate in all directions through air and materials. It could be harmful for human. During this propagation, noise undergoes attenuation due to various factors such as dust, trees, etc. NILC system facilitated to identify the places where the intensity was harmful for human. The system calculated the intensity level of a particular place considering direct source effects and effects of reflections and transmission of sound. The system was developed using Microsoft Visual Basic coupled with Microsoft Access as the database. This system carried out the defined set of operations as efficiently as possible while conforming to the required response times. First the requirements were analyzed. Then in the designing stage the programs were written to implement identified requirements. The visual basic was used to implement those programs.Then the testing was carried out for each sub program and finally the entire system was tested.The out come of this project was a computer program that accurately calculated the noise intensity level at a particular place that caused by a sound source or several sources around there. The noise intensity level was estimated using this system before establishing the instruments that generated noise. en_US
