DEVELOPING A SYSTEM FOR COMPUTERIZATION OF STOCK CONTROL SYSTEM OF THE MAIN STORE IN SABARAGAMUWA UNIVERSITY OF SRI LANKA

Abstract

According to my automated Stock Control System it is developed in order to computerize tee operations of the Issuing, Receiving, Ordering and Purchasing service of the Main Stores in the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. In the existing system, all the operations of the university are manual,the proposed system covers all Issues, receives and purchase activities and other functions. The objectives of this automation is to enhance its services by using Information Technology (IT), the new system will develop under the following areas of operations. ■ Ordering Goods in Reorder Level ■ Issuing Goods for the Departments 8b Other Sections in FIFO System ■ Receiving Goods from the Suppliers ■ Ordering Goods according to the Goods Waiting Time ■ Search Monthly Goods Issuing Details ■ Search Monthly Goods Receiving Details ■ Search Monthly Summarizing Stock Reports and Charts ■ Annual Stock Details ■ Preparing diagrams for the Goods Receiving and Issuing Major Aspects of the New System: ■ Relational database for Data entry, Modifications, Deletions and editing. ■ Quarry Facilities of finding relational details of Supply, Issues and Receive. ■ Reports: ■ Suppliers’ personal data and suppliers’ summary reports ■ Items and Price Details ■ Departments and other sections details ■ Reorder level items display details (Reorder item list daily) ■ Received item details ■ Issued items details (Daily Issued) ■ Daily stock balance ■ Monthly reports ■ Stock Exchange ■ Item received - Item Issued ■ Menus, Data entry forms, queries and reports are developed using,Microsoft Visual Basic and Access. ■ System charts developed by using Easy Case and Rational Rose tools.
