dc.description.abstract This study was conducted to analyses the first destination, employment status and income levels of new graduates from the Science and Technology Faculties of the seven Universities. A total of 1689 of graduates who passed out in 1997 from the Science and Technology Faculties of the seven Universities constituted the target group. The mail questionnaire method was used for data collection. A total of 576 Science and Technology graduate responded resulting in a response rate of one-third.The geographical distribution of the respondents in such that three- fourths of them are from the four Provinces of Western, Central, Southern and North Western. One third of the graduates who responded are female. By degree course,32 percent of the respondents are B.Sc. Engineering graduates, 25 percent B.Sc. General(Physical) graduates, 13 percent B.Sc. Agriculture graduates and the balance 10 percent is made up of B. Sc Special Degree and B. Technology graduates. By the level of achievement at the final examination, the proportions who have obtained first class, second class upper divisions, second class lower divisions and ordinary pass are 4,9,30, and 57 percent respectively. en_US
