dc.description.abstract One of the most useful models of personality is the Big Five Dimensions of Personality (BFDP). Regarding the BFDP, a gap exists in the empirical knowledge of the BFDP among senior bank managers in Sri Lanka. Five conceptual research questions were formulated and answered through desk research. Furthermore, two empirical research questions were formulated and answered through a structured survey among 129 senior managers working in one of the largest and most successful commercial banks in Sri Lanka. The instrument used to measure the phenomenon of the BFDP was based on an operational definition, i.e., the summated rating received on a 20-item, 5-point Likert scale, and its content validity, construct validity, and internal reliability were ensured. The empirical findings revealed that, on average, senior bank managers in Sri Lanka have a BFDP to a high extent, and the degree of the BFDP of senior managers in the selected bank is higher than that of senior managers in general. en_US
