dc.description.abstract Motivation is an internal energy force that determines all aspects of our behaviour; it also impacts on how we think, feel and interact with others. In sport, high motivation is widely accepted as an essential prerequisite in getting athletes to fulfil their potential. However, given its inherently abstract nature, it is a force that is often difficult to exploit fully. The aim of this study was to investigate the significant differences among individual and team game players, on the variable achievement motivation and self-esteem. Total 100 players were selected for the study and all players belonged to Maharashtra state. 50 individual game players and 50 team game players aged between 18-24 years were purposively selected for this study. Tools: Deo Mohan Achievement Scale was developed and standardized by Pratibha Deo & Asha Mohan (1985) and self-esteem inventory was developed and standardized by Thakur. Hypotheses: There will be no significant difference between difference individual and team game players dimension on achievement motivation; There will be no significant difference between difference individual and team game players dimension on self-esteem. It was conclusion that individual game players have significantly high achievement motivation and high self-esteem than the team game players. en_US
