Abstract:
Detecting sports talent as early as possible in a child’s
life is important to promote the sustainable
development of sports, the progress and promotion of
sports performance at elite levels. Equally important, is
the role of physical educators and coaches in schools in
identifying and cultivating sports talents. Physical
education (PE) classes play an important role in
transporting sports reserve forces for national sports in
every country. Besides, At the same time, talent
detection could be a helpful tool to stimulate lifelong sports participation and
reduce dropouts, because it can reveal an optimal connection between sports,
individual strengths and personal preferences (Pion, 2015). Physical Education is
schools emphasis on physical literacy and formed the concept of lifelong habits of
being physically active. Children spent on average 7-8 hours of their waking time
in school. Most of the times, extracurricular activities after schools add on
additional 2-3 hours of school time. This provides ample opportunities to detect
and nurture future sports talents for the country.
