dc.description.abstract Grey System Theory is a novel system theory founded by Chinese Scholar, Prof. Julong Deng, at 1982. It has been applied successfully in various areas such as energy, economics, engineering, etc. This address will deliver main contributions of historical development, theoretical and practical contributions of grey system theory. Grey System Theory (GST), a pioneering methodology born from Chinese systems science. In an era of increasing complexity and information overload, we paradoxically face a scarcity of complete information. Many real-world systems, from economic indicators to mechanical wear, are characterised by “small samples" and “poor information," existing in a state between the known (white) and the unknown (black). It is precisely in this “grey" zone that GST establishes its unique value, offering a suite of methods to extract meaningful patterns and generate actionable knowledge from limited and uncertain data. en_US
